Meet layla

Humayra and Henri’s wedding website wouldn’t be complete without a page dedicated to their beloved cavapoo, Layla Kabir Nekmouche.

For years, Humayra and Henri talked about one day getting a dog together. Finally in the Summer of 2020, Humayra used her powerful skills of persuasion to convince Henri that now was the perfect time to get a dog (as they were both working from home). A few weeks later, they drove to pick up their Cavapoo puppy from a new litter.

When they arrived, instead of going for the male puppy they had planned to take home, Henri was drawn to the smallest female puppy of the litter. Her playful energy, friendly nature and ability to defend herself against her naughty brothers (despite her size) won over Henri’s heart instantly. Soon, they were off to NYC with their new puppy in tow! Humayra had always wanted to name her first daughter “Layla” so it was only natural that’s the name they ultimately chose for their new child.

For the past two and a half years, Layla has enriched and brought so much joy into their lives. Layla’s hobbies include chasing squirrels, following Humayra around the apartment, stealing Henri’s socks, sprinting laps around the dog park and jetsetting around the world. She has of course joined the Humayra and Henri on various trips and even has her own European passport! You can expect Layla to be an integral part of Humayra and Henri’s wedding, just as she is in their everyday lives.
